BJP

BJP: Bharatiya Janata Party… came into being on April 6, 1980. The party grew under the leadership of Lal Krishna Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Many parties emerged in independent India. But, no party has grown as an alternative to the Congress party which has a history of more than 130 years. The Bharatiya Janata Party, fueled by the slogan of Hindutva, has grown into an unstoppable force after 40 years. At the same time, the Congress party, which was an unstoppable force until two decades ago, is now struggling for existence.

Travel with 2 seats..

The Bharatiya Janata Party, which emerged in 1980, contested the Lok Sabha elections in 1984 for the first time. It won only 2 seats in this election. In the same election, the Congress party secured 11 crore votes and won 404 seats. It created history by winning more than 400 seats in the history of India. Since then till now no political party has won 400 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party won 303 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. 303 seats after 404 seats is a record.

Opposition status to TDP..

And in the 1984 elections, a regional party in the country achieved opposition status in the Lok Sabha. In this election, the Congress won 404 seats, while the Telugu Desam Party led by Nandamuri Tarakarama Rao won 30 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the then united Andhra Pradesh. With this, TDP became the party with the highest number of MP seats in the Lok Sabha after the Congress. In the history of India, a regional party has achieved opposition status in the Lok Sabha.

Day by day development of BJP..

Meanwhile, since 1984, Bharatiya Janata Party has been developing day by day. BJP which won 2 seats in 1984 is gradually recovering. In 1988, under the leadership of LK. Adwana, the Rath Yatra was undertaken. This trip went by the name of Ayodhya movement. In this order, on December 6, 1992, the mosque was attacked. As a result, cases were registered against Advani along with RSS, Bajrang Dal and BJP leaders. In this order, Advani Vajpayee was announced as the 6-padhani candidate in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections. With this, Advani's hope of becoming the prime minister remained a disappointment.

Vajpayee as Prime Minister

In the 1998 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 182 seats for the first time. In this election, BJP formed the government along with other parties. Vajpayee became the Prime Minister. But the government collapsed within 13 months. This led to another election in 1999. In this election too, BJP stood as the party that won the most seats with 182 seats. The government was formed with a pro-NDA party.

UPA since 2004.

Meanwhile, in the 2004 elections, the seats of the BJP decreased. It is limited to only 138 seats. With this the UPA government came to power. Manmohan Singh became the Prime Minister. In the 2009 elections too, the Congress-led UPA came to power again. In that election, BJP was limited to 116 seats. Congress was in power till 2014.

With the announcement of Modi as the Prime Minister..

And in 2014, BJP announced Narendra Modi, who was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, as the Prime Ministerial candidate. As a result, the BJP won 282 seats in the Lok Sabha elections held that year. Modi became the Prime Minister. Under his leadership, along with many welfare schemes in the country, the Hindutva slogan came together with the BJP. With this, it came to power for the second time in the 2019 elections with 303 seats. Once again Modi became the Prime Minister. Many laws were brought. India has been ranked as the 5th economic power. Ram Mandir was built. Abolition of Triple Talaq, Article 370. Laws like implementation of CAA have been made.

Abkibar Charsau Par..

In 2024 elections, BJP is moving ahead with the slogan of 400 seats. As of now, all the surveys are stating that BJP will come back to power in the country. But BJP is aiming to come to power with 400 seats. And Modi called to win 370 seats.

Declining power of Congress..

Since 1984, the influence of the BJP has been increasing, while at the same time the influence of the Congress party has been decreasing. The Congress, which achieved opposition status in 2014 elections, could not even win the required number of seats for opposition status in 2019. Family party, corruption, Bofors, Coal, 2G spectrum scams during Rajiv Gandhi's regime, scandals during PV regime have marked Congress as a corrupt party. BJP has taken the idea to the people that if Congress wins, they will lose. As a result, Congress, which was once an unstoppable force, has now become a matter of survival. And let's see what the results of the 2024 elections will be.
