Harthalika teej

Harthalika teej: Couples have a special place in Hindu mythology, scriptures, etc. In any village, if the couple is good, time will come together. Rains fall, nature is happy. Grihastu Ashram is the greatest and holiest of all Ashrams. In it, the wife regularly performs poojas and vows for the happiness of her husband. She thinks that her mangalya will be green only when she is healthy. That's why he does pujas and vratas. Such pooja and vratam 'Hartalika Teej' is celebrated every year by the housewives with great joy. This year the festival falls on Friday, September 6. During the festival, married women don new clothes and wear 16 types of traditional ornaments. It is believed that the Hartalika Teej Vrat is incomplete without 16 ornaments. Pandit Kalki Ram, astrologer from Ayodhya talks about the significance behind Hartalika Teej. According to Sanatana Dharma, married women wear 16 ornaments after marriage, he said. These are considered as symbols of marriage. Married women wear 16 ornaments for their husband's longevity. According to legend, Goddess Parvati started the Hartalika Teej Vrat wearing 16 ornaments. Due to this, her married life was full of happiness. 16 Ornaments include perfumes, anklets, toe rings, gajra, earrings, wedding dresses and mehndi. These adornments include mang tikka, kajal, mangal sutra, bangles, armlets, waist bands, vermilion, bindi.

Hartalika Teej is observed in connection with Lord Shiva and Parvati on Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Shravan. Fasting is observed for long life of husband and happy married life. The word Hartalika is derived from two words Harat, meaning abduction, and Alika, meaning friend. This translates into abduction of friends. Teej represents the third tithi.

Goddess Parvati's father wants to give his daughter to Vishnu in marriage. But she wants to be Lord Shiva. Mother Parvati's friends take her away from the palace and hide her in the forest to spoil this marriage with Vishnu. There, through many years of severe penance, Parvati pleases Lord Shiva and eventually obtains him as her husband.
