Idli: Do you eat idli daily.. but do you know this shocking thing?

Idli: Most of us like Idli. Most people's daily life starts with idli. Hot hot idli, chutney and smoky sambar in it… It is not an exaggeration if there are people who don't like this combination. Kudum Idli in Tamil Nadu, Tatta Idli in Karnataka, Idli prepared with coconut oil in Kerala, Meenapa and Trina Grain Idli are famous in Telugu states.. But will this Idli harm biodiversity? Is steamed idli dangerous? Some experts say the answer is yes. Some researchers looked at 151 dishes that people eat around the world. But this research has revealed that some Indian cuisines pose a greater threat to biodiversity.

The company has studied many ingredients like idli, vada, chana masala, rajma and chapati that are eaten mostly by Indians. Their observations have shown that these pose a threat to biodiversity. The observation of researchers has shown that meat dishes have a tremendous impact on biodiversity, especially compared to vegetarian dishes. But the comforting thing in this is that rice and pulses are used more in our dishes. Moreover, the fact that most of the Indians are vegetarians means that there is not much danger of threatening the biodiversity, researchers say. According to the researchers, food items such as cattle meat used in Brazil, roast lamb dish from Spain, lechao from Brazil cause more damage to biodiversity. However, French fries, aloo paratha, dosa, bonda, which are liked by many people, pose less threat to biodiversity. . But this study illustrates the pressure on biodiversity.

This research was conducted under the auspices of the National University of Singapore on 151 popular dishes from around the world. 25 types of food items have been found to have a serious impact on the environment. Lewis Roman Kargo, Associate Professor of Biological Science at the University of Singapore, played a key role in this research. “People like to eat every dish. Different types of cuisines have developed based on regions. Otherwise these substances have an indirect impact on biodiversity. “They affect the movement of wild species, mammals, birds and amphibians,” he explained.
