In 2014, Purandeshwari contested from Rajampet MP seat when TDP formed an alliance with BJP. But they lost. In the last two elections, Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy's son Peddireddy Mithun Reddy represented as MP. It is certain that he will contest again in the next election. It will be a tough fight if Kiran Kumar Reddy enters the arena as the candidate of the alliance. So far, Kiran Kumar Reddy has won five times as MLA from Chittoor district Vayalpadu and Peeleru constituencies. He served as Chief Whip and Speaker of the combined AP government. Exceptionally, the post of CM also came. However, he has been away from active politics for the past ten years. His brother Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy is the constituency in-charge of Peeleru TDP.
