Medaram Hundi Collection: 12 days after the end of Medaram Sammakka – Saralamma Jatara, recognized as Asia's largest tribal fair and Telangana Kumbh Mela, the counting of hundis was completed. Counting started five days after the end of the fair. The counting went on for about a week. A total of 540 hundis were counted. The previous revenue records were broken this time.

Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara is held every two years. This year it was held from February 21 to 24. This time the Ammawars got Rs.13.25 crores of income through hundis. Hundis were counted for seven days at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Hanumakonda. This calculation was done under the supervision of the officials of the tax department. Rs.13,25,22,511 was earned through 540 hundis.

779 grams of gold

Along with notes and small coins in hundis, devotees also presented gold and silver items as gifts to Ammavar. Like this, 779.800 grams of gold ornaments and 55 kg of 150 grams of silver items came as gifts.

Deposit in banks

After the counting of hundis was completed, the officials wrapped the coins in bags and sent them to the banks. The income of the hundis was deposited in HDFC, Union and Canara banks by the officials of the tax department. 350 people participated in the counting of hundis which lasted for a week. This process was supervised by Deputy Commissioner Srikantha Rao, Assistant Commissioner Ramala Sunitha, Medaram Jatara Evo Rajendram.
