The movie ‘Liger’ has aroused the interest of all movie fans. After the blockbuster like ‘Ismart Shankar’, the film was directed by the dashing and daring director Puri Jagannath. Sensational star Vijay Devarakonda is going to be seen on the silver screen as a boxer for the first time. Already released posters, teasers and songs have created a positive buzz about the film. Apart from that, the promotions were also organized in a grand manner, creating a huge hype on ‘Liger’. Let’s see in the review how the movie ‘Liger’ came before the audience on Thursday (August 25) amid huge expectations.
Liger Movie Story
that Balamani (Ramakrishna) from Karimnagar wants to see her son Liger (Vijay Devarakonda) become a National Champion in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). She comes to Mumbai from Karimnagar to train her son. There she runs a tea stall and trains Liger in mixed martial arts. It is said that no girl in life has ever gone out of her way, if we fall in love we will forget our goal. But Liger falls in love with Tanya (Ananya Pandey) from Mumbai. She also loves Liger but turns away knowing he has a stutter. Has the love failure Liger finally reached his goal? Or? Who helped Liger to participate in the International Championship? Why did Liger have to face his mentor, Mike Tyson? That is the rest of the story.
In recent times, no film has received as much hype as ‘Liger’. Everyone thought that this time Puri is coming in with a strong story. After watching the movie Tira.. it seems that Puri will never sing the same old song again. He made ‘Liger’ by adding a background of mixed martial arts to a simple love story. Instead of promoting it as a love story, it was promoted more as a film coming from the background of MMA. The hero is also shown at the same level. But that seriousness was not seen anywhere in the story.
The MMA scenes are generally slow and lack suspense. It doesn’t seem like the pony love story is impressive. The way Tanya and Liger fall in love is also not impressive. Embedding boldness to attract youth seems a bit awkward. Along with the scenes where the heroine falls in love, their separation, and the reason given for the breakup in the second half, all seem silly. But the way Vijay is shown on screen pleases everyone.
The second half mostly revolves around the mixed martial arts champion. The government is not helping Liger, who has to go to America for the international championship.. All the sponsorship matters are going smoothly. Also, if the son is fighting in America, the mother is sitting at home in Mumbai encouraging him and some other scenes are far from reality. The fighting scene between Mike Tyson and Vijay is difficult for Mike Tyson fans to digest. It would have been better if the ending was based on the main point of the movie. The stuttering dialogues of the hero are laughable at some places. But the family audience cannot connect. Although the storyline written by Puri, the character of Liger is good, he could not lead the story according to that character.
Vijay Devarakonda’s acting is the main strength of this movie. He acted with passion. All the hard work he put in for the character of Liger is visible on screen. His stuttering dialogues sound natural. Vijay’s performance in this film will be new than in previous films. Vijay did full justice to his role with an energetic performance. And Ramakrishna was impressed with her performance as Ligar’s mother Balamani. Ananya Pandey as Tanya is impressive. It looked beautiful on screen. But that character doesn’t have much impact on the movie. Vijay and Ananya’s romance in the songs is impressive.
Ronit Roy as the coach of Liger has impressed. Vishureddy, Ali, and Getup Srinu along with the rest of the actors have acted within the scope of their roles. As far as technology is concerned.. music doesn’t matter. Songs connect better with Bollywood audiences than Tollywood. The cinematography is very good. The production values are high as befits the film.
