PM Kusum Yojana: Good news for Telangana farmers.. 20 thousand people will benefit! | Telugu News

PM Kusum Yojana

PM Kusum Yojana: Center has given good news to Telangana farmers. The Center, which has already brought PM Suryagarh Yojana to increase the consumption of solar power, has decided to provide 300 units of free electricity to one crore households in this scheme. Recently Rs.74 thousand crores have been allocated for this scheme. Recently another scheme has been launched in Telangana to use solar power for agriculture as well. Although the scheme is old, it has come forward to benefit 20 thousand farmers in Telangana.

PM Kusum Yojana..

The Center is implementing the PM Kusum Yojana scheme to provide solar power to agriculture. The Center has said that this year in Telangana, 20,000 agricultural motors will be given subsidy for installation of solar power on an experimental basis.

29 lakh agricultural connections..

There are 29 lakh agricultural electricity connections in Telangana. Discoms are supplying more than 10 crore units of electricity to them per day. To reduce this and increase solar power, the Center has come forward to implement PM Kusum experimentally.

Only for bores with electricity facility..

It has been decided to install solar panels with a capacity of 5 kilowatts per borehole under component C section of the PM Kusum scheme. The Center has said that 30 percent subsidy will be given to the farmers in the cost incurred for this. The scheme is also applicable to those who have already installed solar power at the boreholes. 30 percent discount will be given. The electricity generated from these is connected to the line and a net meter is installed. Boru will deduct the units of electricity used and refund the remaining amount to the farmers at the rate of Rs.3.13 per unit.

How much does it cost?

A 5 kilowatt solar power unit to be installed at Boru Motor costs up to Rs.2.5 lakh. Of this, 30 percent i.e. up to Rs.75 thousand will be subsidized by the Centre. Farmers will have to bear the remaining Rs.1.75 lakh. The Center has suggested that the state should also give some subsidy to divert farmers towards solar. If the state gives 20 percent subsidy, if the total subsidy is 50 percent, the farmers will have the opportunity to set up.

Identification of farmers

Currently, the state government is providing free electricity to agriculture in Telangana. In this background, the farmers are less likely to spend money on solar power. However, the Center hopes to encourage those who are interested and financially able to come forward. TS REDCO found that 5 thousand farmers are already showing interest in setting up solar units in 38 areas of North Telangana. The Rural Electrification Company has come forward to lend the rest of the subsidy given by the Center to them. In this context, discoms have been asked to identify farmers who will set up solar units substation wise.
