Scam 2010 – The Subrata Roy Saga : Sony Liv's scam series became a big franchise. After 'Scam 1992', 'Scam 2003', now season three 'Scam 2010' has been announced by the makers. This time Applause Entertainment, Hansal Mehta is bringing 'Subrata Rai'-Sahara Katha. The title is 'Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga'. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared the teaser of 'Scam 2010' ad on social media. Along with this, he also gave some information to increase the excitement in the audience.

Hansal coming back to the director's chair..

Hansal announced that he is directing season three. Hansal directed 'Scam 1992' based on Harshad Mehta's story. Meanwhile, Hansal's son Jai Mehta directed 'Scam 2003' based on Abdul Karim Telgi's story.

Prateik Gandhi played the lead role in Scam Season 1. Gagan Dev Riyar played the role of Abdul Karim Telgi in Season 2. Gagan received critical acclaim after the release of Telgi Story. It is not yet known who will play the lead role in 'Scam 2010'.

Who is Subrata Roy?

The makers have announced that Scam 2010 will be based on the story of Subrata Roy. Subrata Roy is the founder of Sahara Group. He was arrested for defrauding investors. In 2014, he went to jail after not paying the dues of Rs.10 thousand crores. After two years in jail, Subrata came out on parole in 2016. He went to jail again when SEBI (Securities and Exchange Bureau of India) approached the Supreme Court to cancel his parole.

'Scam' by Subrata Roy

Subrata Roy started his business in 1978 with just 2000 rupees. He started many chit-fund schemes. Although he did not have much knowledge about the banking sector, he collected investments worth crores of rupees through banks. When SEBI registered a case against him in 2010, it was found that he had collected Rs.24 thousand crores from three crore people.

Subrata Roy, who calls himself 'Sahara Shri', has been named 'Sahara' by the Times magazine as the second largest company after Indian Railways. Subrata Roy, who has connections with politics and Bollywood stars, rose rapidly in the 90s. In 2004, Amitabh Bachchan, popularly known as Big B, and many Bollywood celebrities attended his son's wedding ceremony as chief guests.

He was arrested in 2014 on charges of defrauding Sahara India Parivar investors to the tune of thousands of crores of rupees. He died of cardiorespiratory arrest in November 2023.
