Telangana Districts: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who is already showing his own change in governance with many sensational decisions, seems to have taken another sensational decision. In the context of the current election code… it may not be implemented yet… it is being spread that it will be implemented after the end of the Parliament elections. So what is the decision in Revanth Reddy's mind? Why is the media giving priority to that topic?

After becoming Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy gave an interview to Amadhya Andhra Jyoti MD Vemuri Radhakrishna for the first time. On this occasion, Revanth Reddy, who spoke on many topics in his own style, also spoke on the re-division of districts. Districts were formed at will during the previous government. I need not tell you specifically why the districts were formed. If not, we have to face a lot of difficulties due to the formation of districts here and there. At least in some places there are no offices. I faced such a situation when I was a Member of Parliament of Malkaz Giri.. Once a JDP meeting was going on.. there were not even ten members to hold. When asked what this is, the ZP CEO said, “Sir, this is already the case in the district.” Moreover the office is very cramped. If districts are formed without providing minimum facilities, the situation will be the same. Mostly I get complaints on these topics. That is why we are thinking of redistributing the districts,” Revanth Reddy announced at that time.

The leaders of Bharat Rashtra Samithi responded in the context of Revanth Reddy's words at that time. He warned that if the present districts are redistributed, the situation will be dire. However, it seems that Revanth is not paying much attention to those warnings. It seems that he is taking steps towards re-division of districts. It is reported that the government will work on this after the elections. Currently there are 33 districts in Telangana. It seems that there is a possibility to reduce these 33 districts to 17 districts. There is a discussion going on that steps will be taken to convert each parliamentary constituency into a district on the lines of AP. There is a discussion in government circles that a commission will be set up after the elections.

The previous government built integrated collectorate complexes in the new district centers. The rest of the offices were not built at the same level. As a result, some branches are running in rented buildings. Since officers are not appointed to key posts, the rule of in-charges is going on. In that case, the present government argues that it would be useful to form new districts. The government thinks that it will be useful if districts are formed on the basis of parliamentary constituencies. Government sources are of the opinion that there is a need to formulate clear procedures in this regard.
