18-year-old Aarti is a rickshaw driver from Bahrech district of Uttar Pradesh state. She was awarded the prestigious Amal Coonley Women Empowerment Award in London. The award is sponsored by the Prince's Trust, a British charity. This prestigious award is named after English barrister Amal Clooney. Aarti inspired other youth by working as a driver with this rickshaw initiative of the government. For that, London has been selected for a prestigious award by a British charity.

Uttar Pradesh Government launched Mission Shakti scheme in 2020. The scheme aims to empower women through protection, training and self-reliance. Pink started this rickshaw program under this scheme. As a part of this, women are trained in driving these rickshaws and given information about tropical rules. The main objective of this scheme is to provide employment to widows and single mothers. Aarti came forward to introduce the pink e-rickshaw scheme of the Government of India in July last year. Her first pink in UP was a rickshaw driver. She was awarded the Prince's Trust Award for outstanding contribution at a young age. The Prince's Trust honors young women with this award who, against the odds, have succeeded in their global work to bring about lasting change in those around them. Aarti has been selected this year.

Aarti, who won the prestigious London award, is a pink rickshaw driver. She is also a single mother. With this, she was trained as the first rickshaw driver through the Mission Shakti scheme. On the occasion of winning the award, Aarti said that she is proud of being able to inspire other girls to face challenges. That said, this newfound independence allowed me to see the world in a different light. Now I will fulfill not only my dream but also my daughter's dreams. It was this initiative that led me to meet King Charles at Buckingham Palace. It was described as an amazing experience. She said that Prince Charles had listened attentively to her interest in driving the rickshaw. Aarti claims that she proudly told Charles that her auto rickshaw was a non-polluting vehicle.
