AP High Court : Atrocities against women are increasing recently. The increasing cases of domestic violence are also worrying. Women are subjected to violence for extra dowry, suspicion and extramarital affairs. They are tortured mentally and physically. Some of them are committing murders. A couple of murders took place last year in Chennamma circle of Kallur mandal of Kurnool district. Rukmini and her mother Ramadevi were murdered 14 days after the wedding. The family members of the deceased have complained to the police that the in-laws have killed them. In this order, the police registered a case against Rukmini's husband Shravan, uncle Varaprasad and aunt Ramadevi and arrested them. The trial in the Kurnool Family Court has been going on for the last one year. The final investigation was completed recently. The court announced the final verdict today. The court confirmed that Shravan along with his father Varaprasad had committed these murders. Mother Ramadevi was found to have cooperated. In this background, Shravan and Varaprasad were sentenced to death. Ramadevi was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Jubilation is being expressed everywhere on the court's verdict. In serious crimes, the cases should be completed as soon as possible. People's organizations are demanding that the accused should be punished severely. They are of the opinion that capital punishment to the accused is the right course of action.
