= This temple was built during the time of Akanna and Madanna, Bhakta Ramadasa's uncles. It is one of the oldest temples in Telangana.
= A devotee who traditionally comes to Tirupati every year could not go on one occasion due to serious illness.
= Then Venkateswaraswamy came to his dream.. 'I am here in the forest near you. You don't need to worry.'
= That devotee immediately went to the place indicated by God in the dream and saw a mound there. He started digging it. In this sequence the ax hit the idol of Balaji covered under the chin and on the chest. Surprisingly, the idol was injured and profuse blood flowed from it. Seeing this, the devotee could not believe his eyes. Immediately the celestial voice said 'Drown the mound with cow's milk'. When the devotee did that, the Swayambhu idol of Balaji Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi came out.

The idol was immediately taken out and later re-dedicated with appropriate rituals. A temple was built there for some years. That village is Chilukur. Venkateswara Swamy who shined there was popularly known as Chilukuru Balaji.
What is the secret of 108 appearances..
In the ancient times, due to severe drought, a farmer started digging a well. No matter how many wells were dug, no water fell, so the farmer went around the temple and prayed for water to fall in the well he had built. After completing 108 circumambulations around the temple, Patala Ganga came up in the farmer's well. With this, the farmer stopped going round and prayed to the Lord and went to the well and expressed his happiness. He believed that the water fell with the glory of Balaji. Therefore, to fulfill the wish, 108 circumambulations are to be done, and later everyone follows the same.
