After four years, six months and 13 days, he was acquitted. The court sentenced the woman who filed a false case to four years in jail as the young man did. The incident took place in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
What happened..
On December 2, 2019, a woman living in the Baradari police station area of Bareilly filed a complaint with the police that her daughter was raped. She said that Ajay alias Raghav took her 15-year-old daughter to Delhi and sexually assaulted her by giving her drugs. The police registered a case and produced the girl in the court. The girl first testified that Ajay had sexually assaulted her. The case is pending since then. As a result, the accused remained in jail for four years.

The girl who came to the court during the latest hearing told the truth. She admitted in front of the judge that her testimony was false. The Additional Sessions Court acquitted Ajay. She ordered the police to register a case under section 340 against the girl's mother for filing a false case.

The girl's mother also took action against her to serve the same punishment for making an innocent person stay in jail for four years. Judge Gyanendra Tripathi ordered that the woman should also be kept in jail for the whole day. Besides, a fine of Rs.5,88,822 was also imposed. If this fine is not paid, he will be sentenced to another six months in jail.
