Digital media like game changer have similar features.. then it is difficult to write independently. It is difficult to uncover corruption and irregularities. It is still difficult to take them to the masses. But behind every difficulty there is an idea. That idea solves many problems. Such a solution is what caused the change in the system. How the political leaders are oppressing the people like hawks is wrong. The members of the society know what kind of atrocities are being committed by obstructing the system. With the advent of digital media, the role of mainstream media has become nominal. Commercial ads, behind-the-scenes calculations, political interests… so much so that the mainstream media has become just a commodity. Whoever is in power has become like a voice of rent. The main reason for these characteristics is the business aspect of the owners. And since all those who work under the respective owners work like employees and not like journalists.. Moreover, it is impossible to imagine quality and impartiality among them. But some senior and independent journalists have proved that digital media is not a commercial product.
In 2019, Lokesh Batra, a retired Navy employee, collected some evidence through the Right to Information Act. Governments have also collected evidence of schemes to get donations from corporate companies. Nitin Sethi, an investigative journalist, was approached to explain them to the public. Nitin has written investigative articles on various topics in our country for two decades. Due to his lack of freedom in the mainstream media, he has formed an organization called Reporters Collective and is acting as its trustee. Sethi wrote sensational articles with the evidence provided by Batra. They put the real form of election bonds in front of people in India.. Why did they bring the real election bonds to the screen? Why were they sold illegally before the elections? Why did the Reserve Bank of India ignore it? Sethi has created a six-part series explaining the mistakes of the government on many issues.

When all these things came out through the Reporters Collective under the leadership of Sethi, there was an uproar all over the country. But it is remarkable that the mainstream media did not pay attention to such sensational news. It is noteworthy that reputed media houses in the country have been ignored. In February this year, a five-member bench headed by the Supreme Court pulled up the central government in connection with the election bonds. The State Bank of India has been directed to provide full details of the money received in the form of election bonds and who gave the money. But it is remarkable that newspapers and channels did not broadcast this matter.
There are 21 thousand certified newspapers in all languages in our country. There are more than 400 news channels. But none of these can compete with digital media. This is a prime example of mainstream media in decline. Websites like The Reporter's Collective, News Laundry, Scroll, The Quint, The News Minute are publishing such sensational stories. When the mainstream media is reduced to commercial ads.. that's when it loses its value. Now the digital media is continuing its momentum.. It will definitely overtake the mainstream media in the coming days. Because people have value only if they have credibility. That value has been lost by the mainstream media ever since.
