Hailstorm lashed many parts of the state on Saturday. The Meteorological Department has warned that the intensity of hailstorm is likely to increase on Sunday and Monday. Orange alert has been issued for Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally district, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Vanaparthi, Narayanapet, Jogulamba Gadwala, Karimnagar and Khammam districts. Yellow alert has been issued for the rest of the districts of the state. It has been suggested that the Collectors of all the districts across the state should be alert and make arrangements to take immediate relief measures.
19 people died due to sunburn
19 people died in different parts of the state on Saturday due to heat stroke. MEO Battula Bhumaiya in Jagityala district, Komuram Somu of Magela suburb of Gondagudem in Bhirpur mandal, teacher Lakawat Ramanna of Bhallunaik Tanda in Husnabad mandal of Siddipet district fell ill and died. Shakrunaik of Mandal Mukkidigundam village in Kollapur of Nagarkurnool District, Devayya of Peddamupparam village of Dattapalli Mandal of Mahbubabad District, Yadayya of Vargal of Thoguta Mandal of Siddipet District and Nagayya of Vargal have died.
Six in Warangal district..
Six people died due to sunstroke in Warangal district alone. Bhaskar of Chennaraopet mandal, Narsimha of Hariya Thanda, Ajmira Mangya of Ippalthanda, Lakshmi of Rangapur village, Avula Kanakaiah of Gandhinagar, Melaka Lasmaiah of Regulagudeni of Kataram mandal died due to sunstroke.
