Heeramandi The Diamond Bazaar Web Series Review

Heeramandi Review: Some directors have a unique identity in the film industry. The reason is that the films made by them are raising good expectations among the audience. And when a film comes from such people, it means that every audience shows a lot of interest in that film. And one such person is Sanjay Leela Bhansali… He is always at the forefront of making periodical films. It is no exaggeration to say that no one can handle those Movies as he did. And now he has done a web series called Hiramandi in OTT.

And now that web series is streaming on 'Netflix'. But how is this series? Let us now try to know whether the audience is impressed or whether 'Sanjay Ila Bhansali' has repeated his magic not only in the film but also in the series…

the story

First, when it comes to the story of this series, in the year 1920, there were some Nawabs with the British in Lahore. And in Hiramandi, they are used to prostitutes who maintain sexual relationship with rich people for money. And at the same time the Quit India movement was happening, at the same time a wonderful love story was going on in the Hiramand region. In relation to that, this series opens with the plot of what is the relationship between those things and this love story…and to know what happened at the end, you have to watch this series….

Analysis

This series which has been made into 8 episodes looks very boring if you watch it episode wise. Especially up to five episodes but this series has progressed with such a stretch as a serial with slow narration. Even though the rich look and visuals of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie are top notch, the way the story is driven is boring for the audience… but the last three episodes have tried to take the movie to a higher level. Without those three episodes, this series would have been a huge disaster. If you look at this series episode wise…

Episode 1 (The Queen of Hiramandi)

In the first episode, a powerful character named Mallik Jaan (Manisha Koirala) was shown. It must be said that this episode has established very well how she has moved forward in the face of difficult situations. But using this first episode for the introduction of the characters was somewhat okay but failed to fully engage the audience…

Episode 2 (Return of Faratanza Challenges)

An attempt was made to show the love story of a prostitute in a very deep way in this episode. Especially they have a mind. This episode continues to focus on the point of what kind of people they like. But this episode also seems a bit pointless…

Episode 3 (Wahida Jaan)

This episode, with a very slow narration, moves forward more than the serial. It proceeds as if the main purpose of this episode is to test the patience of the viewer. The entire episode was carried forward without any conflict. And we can say that this is mostly a boring episode…

Episode 4 (Alenje Prenocent Path)

This episode was also very boring and failed to engage the audience anywhere. And in this episode, it would have been better if the editor had given his scissors a little more work…

Episode 5 (Taj Dar The Lover's Dilemma)

And this episode proceeded by engaging the audience to a great extent. He took this episode forward by focusing on what love is like in a prostitute and what kind of love falls on whom and when. And Sanjay Leela Bhansali tried to show Mark in this episode to some extent…

Episode 6 (Taj Dar and Alenje)

In this episode, the drama, direction and visuals look very neat. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's complete effort in terms of story-wise, concept-wise, direction-wise, this episode is top range…

Episode 7 (Vibuzan Long Leave the Revolution)

In this episode fully establishing the drama in each character and getting a full performance from that artist, it must be said that this episode is the highlight of the entire series…

Episode 8 (Hiramandi The Vyam Song)

And in this episode it was shown that independence has come. In addition to that, raising the point that “the struggle of prostitutes after independence is not over, nor is the struggle of women over”, he hinted that there will be a second season.

Performance of artists

It must be said that Manisha Koirala, who played Mallika John, carried this film on her shoulders. Not only her character is very different in this movie but her gestures are also a plus for the movie. And Sonakshi Sinha seemed to be okay within her scope. Also, Anuj Sharma not only performed in a decent role but also showed a variety of acting that he had not done before and lived up to the role of whatever the story required…and the rest of them did well in the scope of their roles…

Technical aspects

As far as the technical aspects are concerned, the visuals in this series are amazing…and the music is also good. And because of the background score, some scenes are emotionally connected very well. Especially in the last 3 episodes, the busyness helped a lot to work out the emotion well…it would have been better if the editor edited a bit more…

Plus points

the story
Visuals
Actors

Minus points

Some episodes ran in slow narration…

The direction is minuscule in some scenes…

rating

And our rating for this movie is 2.25/5
