Kalvakuntla Kavita Denied Bail Remanded In Custody Till May 7

Kalvakuntla Kavita: Former Telangana Chief Minister KCR Tanya, accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam case, and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita did not get any relief this time either. Her judicial custody has been extended for another 14 days by Delhi's Rouse Avenue court. As the custody ended today, she was brought before the court virtually from Tihar Jail. Both ED and CBI requested to extend the custody and the court agreed to it.

Investigating agencies called Bail Sasemira..

Kavitha filed a petition in Delhi's Rouse Avenue court that she was illegally arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 15 in a liquor scam and that she should be granted bail. Arguments on this petition were heard before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja. Kavitha's lawyers argued that the ED was asking what it asked and telling what it said.

ED claims like this..

On behalf of the ED, the lawyers presented their arguments. It is said that bribe of Rs.100 crore was given in liquor scam. It is said that Kavita Mandana Meru Magunda Srinivas Reddy and Raghava have given Rs.25 crores. It is said that the liquor policy has been changed in their favour. It revealed that the bribe money was recovered by Indo Spirit. Benami to Arun Pillai Kavitha, explained that 33.5 percent stake in Indo Spirit was taken by Kavitha in the name of Arun Pillai. It is said that there is a political understanding between Kavitha and Kejriwal in this matter. The counsel for ED requested the special CBI court that if Kavitha is granted bail, there is a possibility of tampering with the evidence and the progress of the case will also be affected. The ED has also handed over the progress of the case investigation to the court. The ED told the court that they will submit the chargesheet on Kavitha's arrest within 60 days. Due to this, the CBI special court has given orders to extend the judicial custody till May 7.

Kejriwal custody too..

The Rouse Avenue Court has also extended the judicial custody of Delhi CM Kejriwal, who was arrested in the same case and is in Tihar Jail, for another 14 days. Kejriwal was also produced before the court virtually by the ED. The court ordered Kejriwal to appear before them on May 7. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 at his official residence in Delhi. It is known that the Delhi court has already dismissed Kejriwal's plea seeking special treatment from private doctors in jail.
