Lakshadweep: Snake migration is common in India. Dogs are also seen more and more. But there is an area in our country where those two creatures are not found. No snakes are found there. No dog barking is heard. You might be surprised, but it's true. More than 350 species of snakes roam India. Moreover, the number of snakes is increasing every year. But only 17 percent of snakes in India are venomous. There is not much fear with the rest.
Kerala is the state with the largest number of snake species in our country. Lakshadweep is near there. Lakshadweep, a union territory, consists of 36 small islands. The total population of Lakshadweep is 64,000. Spread over a total area of 32 square kilometers, 96% of the population of Lakshadweep is Muslim. Four percent are Hindus, Buddhists and other religions. But although there are 36 islands in Lakshadweep, only ten of them are habitable. It includes the islands of Kavarati, Agati, Amini, Kadamat, Kilatan, Chetlat, Bitra, Andoh, Kalpani and Minikai.
However, some islands are inhabited by less than 100 people. But snakes and dogs are not found anywhere in these islands. If any tourist is brought there the machinery will control it. But the birds like the leaves seem to be extreme. A rare sea cow is seen here. Lakshadweep is lovely. It attracts tourists. That is why thousands of tourists come here every summer.
