20 Mlas And Four Lakh People Did Not Apply For The Vote
Parliament Elections 2024: As part of the general elections, the first phase of polling began across the country on Friday. Elections were held for 102 seats. Minor clashes took place in the states of West Bengal and Manipur. Polling was peaceful in other areas. But in this election, the democracy in the state of Nagaland was turned upside down. In the elections to the Nagaland Parliament seat in the state, six districts recorded 0% polling. Not only common people but also MLAs are away from the voting process. The election staff left after waiting for nine hours for them to come and exercise their right to vote.
Nagaland is a northeastern state. Nagaland Parliament seat is spread over six districts of this state. People of the Naga race are mostly present here. The Central Election Commission has set up 738 polling stations to celebrate the parliamentary elections in this state. Nagaland state has a total of 13.25 lakh voters. There are 4,00,632 voters in six districts. There are 20 legislative constituencies in this state. Being a northeastern state, the Election Commission has allotted polling time from seven in the morning to four in the evening. As no one came to vote, the polling staff left in the evening. Not only common people but also 20 MLAs did not exercise their right to vote. As this matter came to light, netizens are reacting strongly on the social media platform. They are criticizing that they are so lazy to vote. Such people are being demanded to be deported from the country.
On the other hand, with this development, the state of Nagaland has lost its reputation. As a result, Chief Minister Neifia Rio had no choice but to respond. “The government has made arrangements for the election. Staff has also been appointed. The government has no problem in this regard. We have asked to give autonomy to the frontier territory of Nagaland in relation to our state. He stated that we have also made a recommendation in this regard. On the other hand, when reporters asked the chief minister whether any action would be taken against those 20 MLAs who did not vote, he said that in his peaceful state there is no place for clashes.. He did not want such things. On the other hand, the authorities are expressing their anger at calling for a bandh during the elections. Nagaland State Election Officer Vaysan told reporters that a show cause notice has been issued to the Nagaland ENPO. ENPO Sapiku responded to this.
