Smartphone Tracking: This is the age of smartphones. A day does not pass without a phone. All financial affairs and personal information along with phone numbers are kept in these phones. But sometimes phones are lost due to our carelessness.. sometimes they are stolen. All the information is lost. Thieves broke 20 phones in a recent rally held in Hyderabad. A similar situation prevailed in the election assemblies before that. If a hundred people lose their phone, then they have to give up hope. But a tech influencer says that if the phone is lost among hundreds of people, it can be caught in a pinch with a small trick. Let's find out what that trick is.
During Ramadan..
Shahrukh, one of the tech influencers, recently shared the incident that happened during Ramzan last year. He narrated the incident when he went to Jama Masjid in Delhi with his wife for Iftar dinner. He told how he lost two phones and how he got them back. He explained it in a series of tweets.
On April 15, 2024, I and my wife went to Jama Masjid in Delhi for Iftar. There are so many people that you can put sand around. We have three cellphones. Among them are iPhone 13, Xiaomi CV2, Redmi K50 Ultra. We put three phones in a zip bag. After a while, the bag was open. iPhone and Xiaomi phones have disappeared. Immediately I shouted that thief.. thief.. Someone has knocked my phone. But no result. Immediately inform the authorities there. They shouted that if they don't help me, they will take care of people like you.
What did you do?
– Called iPhone first. The switchoff came. Then I called another phone. The phone is on. Couldn't stop that phone. The reason for this is to enable the shutdown confirmation feature. When this feature is on, a password is required to switch it off. The phone was not turned off.
– I immediately opened the 'Find My Device' feature on another phone I have. The location of the mobile was found in the same mosque premises. I selected the missing mobile in Find My Device and clicked the tap sound. The phone started ringing. The other person cannot silence that sound.
– I immediately called that phone as the noise kept coming from that phone. The person who didn't pick up the phone till then picked up the call. He said that he should come near gate number 2 of the mosque and receive it. As soon as I woke up, he gave me both the phones. If he falls down, he will take it. I didn't say anything when I got my phones. After some patient thinking I found my phones. Shahrukh explained in tweets that the thief is smart but my phones are just that. Netizens are appreciating Shahrukh who revealed this trick. Some people are commenting that they should not give ideas to thieves.
