And how did Tulsi Gowda get such knowledge about plants.. Her father died when she was two years old. Hence Tulsigowda used to go to work in a nearby nursery with her mother since childhood. Playing with plants. Grown among the plants. Worked in nursery for 35 years. Karnataka has been looking after the forest related nurseries for years.

Padma award
Government of India has recognized Tulsi Gowda's efforts for environmental protection, plants and trees. The Government of India honored her with the Padma Shri Award in 2021 for her 35 years of work in plant conservation and environmental protection. President Ram Nath Kovind awarded Padma Shri to Tulsigowda.
