Air Travel: The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued important instructions to the airlines of the country. Airlines have advised companies that children below 12 years of age must be assigned a seat next to one of their parents.

After considering these complaints, the DGCA felt that allotment of seats next to parents or guardians is fine. It was concluded that the journey would go smoothly. In this order, it has issued the latest key instructions to the airlines.

In the latest directives, the DGCA has stated that during the booking of flight tickets, seats should be allocated next to the children and it should be recorded in the records as to whom the seat is allocated next to the parents. Some other rules have also been changed. The issue of preferential seating was mentioned. Changed the rule of automatic seat allotment to passengers who have not selected any seat for check-in till the time of flight departure. Zero baggage charges, meal, snack, drink charges and increased charges for carrying musical instruments have been allowed. Airlines have already appealed to DGCA on this issue. DGCA has stated in the transport circular that they will examine them and give permission to increase the fares.
